Happy New Year to you all :)
It's been a while since I post the previous entry. How have you been? How did you start your New Year?
We Y&F have wonderful news.
One of the members Yurick was discharged from the hospital at the end of last year after surviving about 8 months' hospital stay. We are really happy to hear that from her.
She still needs to see a doctor regularly, but now she can be stay with her family. Wonderful!

Yurick is a key person for Y&F. She asked for us to create a website about Kanemi Yusho Disease last year. That was the beginning. From then on, we have been learning Kanemi Yusho and creating our website step by step. We would like to enrich the website more and more. We would like more of you to know about Kanemi Yusho.

May the year of 2014 bring you a lot of happiness and smiles!

We're so thrilled!
Our brand new website was picked up by a local newspaper, "Nagasaki Shinbun."
It's been less than a month since we started thinking about our website's framework, and everything seems to have been really quick.

Though it's not one of those national papers, we believe in the power of media, of the Internet, and word of mouth. No matter how small our group is, we hope we would be of some help to those who are suffering from the disorder. We sincerely hope so.

Special thanks to Mr. Yamada, who gave us a helping hand to spread information about us. We'll keep moving forward!!

Hello, this is Chiiko from Y&F.
This is my first blog entry here :)

First of all, let me tell you about Yurick&herFriends, shall I?
Yurick&herFriends was organized to create an information website about Kanemi Yusho Disease. Seven Japanese members of various occupations are currently involved in this organization.
Originally we became friends in an English learning SNS. In September this year, one of us, Yurick, proposed to create a website for those who suffer from the Yusho Disease and want more information on it...That was the beginning.

At first we didn't know much about the Kanemi Yusho Incident, though it was the worst food contamination incident caused by dioxin-like compounds. We knew very few about what happened, where and when it occurred, or how its victims are now. So we got started with such basic facts. It seemed to us that it would be a long way, but we have come here! We launched our website in less than a month.

As Y&F members live around Japan, we get in touch online, the SNS or Twitter. We don't know each member's real name, age, face or address. We, however, feel the bonds of friendship :)

Yurick&herFriends continues to send out useful information and voice of the Yusho victims. I would like you to visit our website and learn more about the Yusho Disease.
